Dr. Joy Davidson is a renowned author, speaker and psychotherapist who has dedicated her career to empowering women, men, and couples in their search for self-understanding, relationship fulfillment, and creative expression.

As a writer of books, articles and advice columns—both in print and online—she has reached untold millions of readers, and her sexual enrichment videos have been viewed by over fifteen million and counting.

Dr. Davidson’s warm, vivacious personal style has made her a sought-after guest on hundreds of national television and radio shows, including Oprah, Geraldo, CNN News, Entertainment Tonight, Sally, Montel, Maury, Bill O’Reilly. She has delivered featured talks to numerous organizations including the University of Southern California, the Women in Management Association, The Young President’s Association, the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex.

Dr. Davidson is the co-creator and writer behind the award winning home video series, “Secrets of Making Love to the Same Person Forever,” produced in association with The Sharper Image and Playboy Entertainment Group.

  She is the author of Fearless Sex: A Guide to Overcoming Your Romantic Obsessions and Getting the Sex Life You Deserve. In hardcover it was a selection of the Literary Guild and the Venus Book Club.

Dr. Davidson is often asked to provide expert analysis and commentary on psychological issues in popular media and culture. She is the editor of The Psychology of Joss Whedon: An Unauthorized Exploration of Buffy, Angel and Firefly, which is one of Benbella Books’ acclaimed Smart Pop series. Dr. Davidson holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an AASECT* certified Sex Therapist, as well a former member of AASECT’s Board of Directors.
